Admission requirements

Programme-specific requirements recorded in SIT Connect.

You need a completed bachelor's degree of at least 180 ECTS (or equivalent) in engineering (mechanics, chemistry, electricity, electronics or energy) or engineering physics
other backgrounds covering mathematics, physics, chemistry, materials, thermal sciences and electrical engineering are considered case by case. Your background decides the Year 1 options: electrical or electronics graduates need thermal and materials foundations to start at KTH, chemistry, chemical or mechanical graduates need electrical foundations to start at UPC, and Instituto Superior Técnico offers harmonisation courses. Final-year students may apply for a conditional offer, but not with KTH as Year 1 in Rounds 1-2, and civil or naval engineering backgrounds cannot study at KTH. Proof of English is required unless a waiver applies
a two-minute video is encouraged but optional, and no admission exam is currently required. UPC is one of four Year 1/Year 2 universities (with KTH, École Polytechnique and Instituto Superior Técnico) and awards the Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering.

At registration at UPC: documents issued outside the European Higher Education Area legalised through diplomatic channels or with an apostille, with official translation into Spanish, English or Catalan

At arrival at UPC: copy of health insurance covering health care, accident, repatriation and civil liability

Second-year students at UPC: academic certificate from the first-year university
