Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

SLU's mechanical engineering program provides in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experiences. You will be prepared to find solutions to real-world problems by working with mechanical systems, structural designs, and computer-aided models. In addition, you will complete SLU's rich liberal arts core curriculum, which provides critical thinking and communication skills essential to finding meaning in your future career and life.

Programme-specific requirements recorded in SIT Connect.

• You must be graduating from, or have completed, an accredited secondary school (or hold an acceptable GED/HiSET result), with the school-leaving qualification and any national exam that gives access to university in your own education system. SLU's engineering programmes additionally require a minimum cumulative high-school GPA of 3.00 for first-year applicants (2.70 college GPA for transfer applicants). Strong applicants have 15 units of high-school work, including three or four units of English and four or more units of mathematics (algebra I and II, geometry and precalculus
• Algebra II with Trigonometry is not sufficient). Admission to the School of Science and Engineering considers secondary-school grades, test scores if submitted, co-curricular activities and any college coursework. SAT/ACT scores are optional for students in the U.S. system, and unless exempt you must show academic English proficiency (see the English requirement).

The official programme record lists English. It does not publish a programme-specific minimum language-test score, so no score is invented here.
